Creating Space for Voices, Where It All Began

In the height of Covid 19, table//FEAST Literary Magazine was conceptualized after the founder left a now closed publication called Goat’s Milk. In the past, he worked as an associate editor in fiction for Glass Mountain, an undergraduate literary magazine housed at University of Houston, although it was a brief stint due to being disenfranchised from the ways it was run back in 2010. As someone that hungered to learn more and do more, he was motivated to begin an indie lit mag called Houston & Nomadic Voices which only had two consecutive issues. As a college student, he could no longer afford to cover the cost to print out of pocket.

table//FEAST was originally an online PDF on the website, but there was a desire to revive an analog format for the issues. As Colin returned to being a teacher, he supported the analog production with his earnings and help from others.

We have always tried to pay our contributors when able, although due to a few years of hardship, paying writers and artists ended. Now, the fourth issue is available in our online store. We hope to move forward paying contributors a modest honorarium and to continue a print run.

For issue six, submissions will open in the early fall of 2026. Issue five is slated for publication in August/ September 2026. Contests are on hiatus as Colin pays out of his pocket and is a teacher and graduate student.

“//” signifies the point at which the feast and table meet, where community takes shape, and the sharing of stories takes place.
